Follow the footpath along and on the edge of the field three Lime trees (Tilea europaea) have been planted sometime in the past. Nobody knows when or who planted them. They where known as the three witches by older members of the community who knew they were there.

Rhododendron luteum is one of my favourites in the Rhododendron family, late Spring early Summer it is filled with deliciously fragrant yellow flowers.; the scent often drifts across the garden on warm still days. Then in Autumn the leaf colour can be spectacular bringing a wonderful splash of quite long lasting colour.

25th October 2009
British Summertime ended yesterday. So we all had an extra hour in bed as the clocks went back. It means that the mornings are going to be a little lighter from now on and the evenings become darker earlier. Fine for getting up in the morning and for taking the photo of the day.

A quiet windless day. Foliage around hangs wet from last night. More leaves scattered across the track.

21st October 2009
A brisk blustering wind knocks hedge tops and trees around. Sky as dark as a bruise. High above a Buzzard wheels chased by a Crow, both blown swiftly across the sky by the wind.

A lull between the rain. Everything hangs wet, but above the wind blows strongly. Leaves fly in flocks of gold's, browns and yellows from the trees, over the hedge and into the field beyond.

Although overcast and cool we decided to take a day off today to visit a fairly new local attraction Manorhouse Wildlife Park. See below today's photos.
Manorhouse Wildlife Park is in its second season and masses of work has been done there. All credit to Anna and her husband Colin for everything they have and are putting into it.
If you come to Pembrokeshire, which is a must for anyone then Manorhouse Wildlife Park is a must see.
Set in some lovely grounds and landscape, there are loads of walks to wander on
and animals to see.
It boasts the largest walk in Lemur enclosure in Europe where you can get in and up close to the Lemurs.
Hours can be spent wandering around the grounds. If you want to visit this year then you have up to 1st November to get there before they close for this season.
