9th June 2009

All at once the flowers of the Sorrel (Rumex acetosa) have come out on long stems. Many poke up in the grass within the field. Their colour ranges through so many shades of red.

It's a herb that is fine for adding to salads, with a sharp nearly citrus tang to the flavour.
