5th July 2009

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is now in full flower. The scent from it is so reminiscent of Summer, a sweet dusty smell like a gently powdered Aunt . Dry still days and the delicious perfume drifts on the air. A bank of Meadowsweet.

It is an old herbal remedy for headaches. Two teaspoons of dried flowers per cup of water, steeped for five minutes makes a quite pleasantly tasting tea, a taste similar to the smell of new hay.
