4th March 09: Today we got wind of a threat to the hedges just as the nesting season is starting. These people had been warned that it was now the wrong time to cut the hedge using a flail hedge cutter. If it had been done when they first stated that they wanted to do it, in February, then it would have been fine.

What really gets to you is that they believe they are ecologically minded people, yet think nothing of destroying an area in their surrounding environment out of sheer bloody mindedness.

First thing that had to be done was to get in touch with the Police Liaison Wildlife officer for the area. But that seemed to be harder than you would think and Jo was led down a blind alley.

We think we know who could be the contractor who has been contacted about the cutting although our Source does not think it would be him as he knows about the right times for cutting hedges and the season has now run out.

Maybe it is a little cynical, but cash in hand!
