6th March 09: Today I finally got hold of the Wildlife Liaison Officer and explained the situation to him. He passed me on to our nearest sub station where I talked to a WPC.

Explaining once again everything to her she needed to do research into legalities of it all. How it stood in the way of environmental disturbance, how to proceed if there is need for prosecution.

After an hour she got back to me. Having been in touch with the PCC Ecologist. He had informed her about the legalities of disturbance of nesting birds. We have every right to stop any proceeds to cut the hedge and as it is a reported case the Police will come out immediately.

In the evening I contacted our Source once again and informed him that the Police had now been notified and were ready to act. The contractor who we suspected and who our source was going to ask, could not be contacted in any way. Strangely out of touch...
